OUR SMOG EXECUTIVE

Our current SMOG Executive is represented by 4 elected members, all with strong, lengthy affiliations with the club through the years and who bring specific professional skills to the Board:

  • Tania Absolom
  • Beck O’Shaughnessy
  • Charmaine Meredith
  • Emily Black (as Club Captain)

Our Executive Board maintains a minimum of 4 elected members and meet as and when required.  We govern SMOG Netball Club through a robust Code of Conduct principles and policies that exist within and comply with our Club Constitution while also aligned with both NWC and NNZ guidelines.

As an Executive Board, our responsibilities include developing and implementing strategies, policies and procedures for the administration, promotion, and growth of our club, seek and secure sponsorship, set the annual budget, develop and implement prudent policies to enhance our financial position and property and to co-opt persons with special expertise if and when required.  In addition, we deem it our responsibility to understand the regional/national direction of netball in Wellington and New Zealand to ensure we remain aligned particularly for our high-performance players and coaches entering the Talent Identification pathways.

OUR SMOG COMMITTEE

Our SMOG Committee is a group of highly dedicated volunteers who are passionate about the successful operations of our Club and providing an all-encompassing experience for our members.  They are responsible for undertaking administrative functions such as establishing and managing teams, organising trials, appointing coaches, providing equipment, bookings of training facilities, setting and collecting fees and liaising with Netball Wellington Centre.  Our SMOG Committee is hugely valued within our organization and their contribution to the operations and management of our club is something that the Club does not take for granted.  Both Committee and the Executive Board work closely together ensuring that support mechanisms and structures are in place to allow the Committee to undertake all actions and activities needed to ensure SMOG Netball Club functions to its full potential.

Would you like to join the Committee?  If you enjoy being part of 'making things happen' and are interested in lending your time to help with the operations of the Club, we are always keen for an extra set of hands to assist.  This may be through various methods such as coaching, planning and running social events, managing or helping with fundraising activities.
